Oshkosh and its surrounding communities have a population of 95,000. The city plays host to hundreds of local, regional, national and international events each year—Oshkosh is, after all, Wisconsin’s Event City.

HEALTH CARE

Greater Oshkosh’s health and wellness needs are met with comprehensive services that range from community education classes to physician practices, from inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation to advanced wound care, and from hospitals to surgery centers and clinics.

Greater Oshkosh offers two hospitals: Aurora Medical Center and Mercy Medical Center. Both hospitals are full-service and include emergency rooms.

PUBLIC SAFETY

Oshkosh ranks among the safest places to live, work, raise a family or visit! According to the “City Crime Rankings 2013,” published by CQ Press, the Oshkosh-Neenah MSA ranks in the top 20 in the Nation.

EDUCATION

Oshkosh has a strong tradition of education and offers one of the finest school systems in the nation. Our schools, both public and private, provide a variety of educational programs. Oshkosh was one of the seven cities in Wisconsin on a list of the top 25 school districts in the country, according to the July 2006 issue of Corporate Report Wisconsin.

Public schools in Oshkosh include fifteen elementary schools, five middle schools, two high schools, and four charter schools, with a total of almost 10,300 students. In addition, the private schools have an enrollment just over 1,000 students.

Fox Valley Technical College, headquartered in Appleton, has four locations in Oshkosh.

UW-OSHKOSH

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is the third largest university in the state, with a total enrollment of more than 13,000 students. With 1,400 graduate students, UW Oshkosh has the largest graduate program of the eleven comprehensive universities in the UW System.

Oshkosh hosts more than 1,000 events annually where you can have fun at fantastic festivals, watch or participate in sports tournaments and competitions, or see one of the largest aviation festivals on earth. You can also attend live music festivals, catch a fishing tournament, bring the kids to one of the many family-friendly festivals and special events, and enjoy art exhibits, farmers markets, live performances, car shows and more.
